Dark Company

After the Great War, a human soldier, named Logan, went insane. His home had been destroyed, his wife and family killed in the war. With nothing to live for, he roamed the land randomly attacking travellers and merchants on the road. Rumors started to spread abbout a crazed soldier who was terrorized the roads, and who was very powerful. He struck like lightning and barely left a trace, his voice was like resounding thunder, but was always some sort of riddle, or nonsense. After some time, the rumors subsided. Everyone though he had been killed, or captured. Thirty years later, he was sighted again, roaming with a band of misfits, outcasts, the insane, even demons. He should have been dead. No one knows how he has survived so long, but NO ONE wants to mess with the Dark Company.

Wild Mages

Wild mages, are students who went to the University, but did not like the artifical nature of the magic there.  So, breaking away from the University and journeying throughout the world, Wild Mages study the magic of nature and the world around them. Wild Mages have a hieghtened sense of awareness, and usually know what is going on around them at all times. Wild Mage's powers vary, as most are wanderers and nomads, but some staples are, controlling surrounding foilage, talking to and bending animals to their will, and rarely controlling weather and the earth.

The Night Lords

The Night Lords are a group of assassins and alchemist who have learned to harvest Dark matter and use it in some way. They have special rings they wear that allow them to teleport, and they are all dangerous.

History:
After the War, a group of mages traveled and settled in the Break; the huge mountain range that separates Erutera from the Badlands. They built a tower and started to experiment with the Dark matter they harvested from the creatures across the Break. They dabbled in Dark magic and learned to control, and manipulate the Dark matter, which unlocked untold amounts of power. But with their continued exposure to the Dark matter brought disastrous consequences. They lost their humanity and their bodies deteriorated, they became walking skeletons. Though still alive, they no longer needed food, water, or even air. They learned the arts of the sword and became the first Night Lords. Throughout the Age, they kidnapped children to train as their acolytes. They did not expose their followers to as much Dark matter as they had done, letting them keep their humanity. They trained their acolytes to be proficient in magic and in the sword. They taught them stealth and guerrilla tactics. They acolytes are now the most renowned assassins in the world, though almost no one can find them or are willing to try, save for a very desperate cause. The original Night Lords send them out to mete out their own justice.

The First Vol'Dante

"This is the story of the first Vol'Dante. My name is Surgi Hanzo. I lived during. The Great War between Eruem and Haliax. I was a Ryoukoshi, it was near the end of the war, and refugees of my people were fleeing into the desert, back to our homeland. They were pursued by all manner of Dark creatures. We stopped for the night, and were ambushed. I grabbed my spear and leaped out of my tent. The fighting was intense, and my wife... she died in the battle. With nothing to love for I told the others to leave, that I would hold them off. It was suicide, I knew that, but I was broken, I had nothing to live for. They agreed and they made a mad dash towards home. I fought as hard as I could to buy them time. In fact I lost track of it. I killed the last enemy before me, and there was silence. Silence. I had killed all of them. With nothing else to do, I say and wept. Battered, bruised and bloody, I wept. I cried for my wife, and the life I left behind. Suddenly, a hand appeared before me. I followed it up the arm and found it attached to a man, hooded and cloaked, with pure white hair and the greenest, most piercing eyes I have ever seen. 'Who are you?' I asked. 'Be not afraid mortal. I am Tyrinus, god of the sky. Come you have been summoned.' the man, Tyrinus, replied. With nothing to lose, I took his hand. We appeared, in a huge circular room, with walls of white. Above, stood a figure, silhouetted by a blinding light, who said, 'Tyrinus, you may leave us.' Tyrinus looked shocked, but replied, 'Yes my lord.' He vanished. 'Why am I here?' I asked the figure. 'Before I tell you that, let me introduce myself Surgi. I am Eruem, the creator of this world. I have summoned you here to give you a mission.' 'A mission?' I asked. 'Yes, as you know, the Triumveri watch over Haliax's prison, but his followers are many and the Triumveri are far fewer. I need you, to infiltrate these groups, and, if nessisary, lead the Triumveri against to prevent Haliax ever escaping again. I will grant you whatever you will need. You will become the first Vol'Dante, the leader in the darkness. General of the Triumveri. Can you do such a thing for me?' 'I... I would be honored sir.' I answered. 'Good, I Now bestow you with immortality, now for your weapon. I have had Hyrugos craft the finest weapon of all time. The Azure Sky, it is crafted of gold, vertalium, and... Something else. Take it, it is yours.' The weapon rose out of the floor in front if me. It was a sword that was black as night, with a circular pommel with three spikes on each side, and a red eye jewel in the center. I grabbed the hilt and it changed, it changed into a spear, just like the one I had but black as the night sky. 'Tha-thank you.' I stammered. Now we'll fast forward a bit. I was far underground viewing Haliax's prison. I past the Triumveri, guarding the Door of Nine Seals, and stepped in to a huge circular room, I has on a small platform overlooking a pit that went on forever. Suspended in the middle of the pit, was Haliax. Wrapped head to toe in chains, what little of his skin I saw was blacker that black, and where the chains touched him it boiled. Now we fast forward some more, three days ago, I was there again, on the platform. I looked below, and he was swinging, back and forth, curious I stayed and watched. The chain broke, I have no idea how but it broked. Haliax fell. I saw him fall and fall, till I could not see him anymore. Then the chain rocketed up and broke through the platform, and through me. Shocked, I tried to utter a warning to the Triumveri outside, but to no avail. The chain yanked and I was thrust to the floor, I could feel in slowly being climbed up, finally he made it up his cruel rope. I looked up at him as he rise up over the platform. He was made fully if Dark Matter. He was pitch black and darkness lurched around him like a fog. Without a word, his arm became a blade and the stabbed me in the face. Usually when I die, Eruem brings me back, but not this time. Thankfully, my spirit was able to flee. I am Surgi Hanzo, Vol'Dante, and I come to tell you Haliax has escaped and the Fourth Age has begun.'"

The Legend of the Triumveri

This legend begins at the end of the Second Age, Eruem had won, but now he had to decide what is to become of the instigators. In the Room of Judgment the gods sat, "Centrus, what is your plea?" Eruem boomed down to where the plotters sat. "Haliax, he..." Centrus's voice faltered. "He convinced me that we could win, that... that with his new powers he could destroy you... I... I'm sorry, Lord Eruem.... please forgive me..." He pleaded. "You  liar!" Haliax spat. "You joined me willingly, I never made you do anything, I could've done it all by my-"
"Enough!" Eruem shouted. "Centrus, I believe your claim, I banish you to never walk in Erutera again. You shall reside in the sea, and that is where you shall remain." A ring of light glowed around where Centrus was bound and kneeled. It flashed and he was gone. "Haliax, I sentence you to burial underground, wrapped in chains of gold and vertalium, suspended over the abyss, forever made of the Dark matter you created, never to exist in Erutera again." The ring glowed. "I'll be back, no prison can hold me, no torture can break me, nothing can stop me!" Haliax defiantly replied. The ring flashed and he was gone.
Eruem turned to the other gods. "Bring me three of the best heroes from the War." He said. A week pasted. The gods returned with the three heroes. The first was Garrett Fireburst, a swordsman who led his army against the Dark, outnumbered three-to-one and was victorious. The second, was an elf, Pelior, who with his ten other scouts held the Scarlett Pass garrison against the Darkness, for a week, before help arrived. The last, Tirein who was but a child of ten, who four years previously, had jumped off of the roof of his own burning house and killed a gedrud with a kitchen knife, saving his village. He had never said a word after that. "Welcome heroes! I have one request of you, no, a mission. The Dark god Haliax has been imprisoned, but I fear his followers may find a way to set him free. Your mission is to stop all attempts to free him, and to make sure he does not get free. This will not go without a cost however, I will make you immortal and invincible, but you will never be able to see you families again, or live a normal life. You will be slaves to this mission. Will you accept?" The heroes conversed. "We accept." Garrett said. "Very well. Come closer." The heroes approached Eruem. Eruem raised his hand and the three changed. Their clothes became robes of the purest white, great wings of fire and holy light exploded from their backs. Their bodies became like pure magic, and they wielded swords of flame. "Hence forth, you all shall be known as the Triumveri." Eruem said, and then he wept. The Triumveri flew from the room and journeyed to Haliax's prison. There they stand guard, forever watching, waiting. Thus is the legend of the Triumveri.

The Complete History of the Norwrath

Current King: King Jarmuth Avram  Current Queen: Queen Callidora
(Story begins during the end of the Third Age, continues until the Fourth Age, or present time.)
Norwrath was founded by 30 or so brave, fierce, and proud pioneers from a distant island, no longer in existence. These pioneers were sent out to find a new home. A new hope. A new life. Their homeland was in desperate need of resources. They had run out of farmable land and the forests were rapidly decaying each month as water became scarce. With the threat of destruction and slaughter from pirates, the small nation had no other choice but to flee. After two years of searching the vast ocean, the pioneers finally set foot on dry land, later to be called Atreyarc’s Mouth after the captain of the voyage, Sir Jarmuth Atreyarc. Within nine months, word had gotten to the homeland about the new world and so, the islanders set sail for a better life. Eventually the island was ransacked and left barren after the pirates, who were quick after the fleeing people. The pirates were swift and caught up to the convoy of ships headed for the new world. The Kardians, known for their excellence at sea were able to defeat the pursuing pirates, only loosing a two smaller vessels to the attack. After a few weeks, the Kardians finally made it to their new home. This new territory was lush with resources such as iron ore and precious metals as well as land as far as the eye could see. The wild animals of the territory were numerous and very hearty. Rushing fresh water springs could be found only a few paces in any direction. This new territory was exactly what the Kardians hoped for, they called it Norwrath. Decades past and life flourished for the Kardians in their new home. They became good allies with the nation Atera over the years, learning more and more about the new continent and its resources. Every once in while, the Visgar would attack a port city, but the Kardians were always ready and their faithful and valiant Paladins would rather die in battle than to give up their home. One could say that the true power and strength behind every Paladin shield, is his pride. You will not find any man or elf with greater pride than a Paladin. But do not stop their with the men of Norwrath. You must also take notice about the Kardian women. Strong, beautiful, and never to be underestimated. Kardian wives were just as strong as their husbands, because it was widely believed that the stronger the mother, the stronger her child will be. Kardian children should never be overlooked. Straight from the womb, they are scrutinized for any defects, only the healthy and strong get to live. Many might think this practice is inhumane or wrong, but to the Kardians, it means that every man, woman, and child will bear their own weight and thus allowing the nation to thrive and flourish as well as fight and win in battle. But do not think that the Kardian nation had it easy ever since they colonized the area. Due to their immense levels of pride, the early Kardians disagreed on how to run their new homeland. Most of the time discussions ended in bloody brawls between two factions, the Veneratio wanted to respect the land and its resources, making sure to always give back what they take, never to waste the land. The second faction, the Illicitus, did not care to much for the land, yet wanted to start creating a vast standing army and had the vision of conquering the entire continent. After the two factions split amongst the nation, civil war broke out between the two. For years the war was stagnant, neither side made any progress, until a small group, Novus Spes, was created. The Novus Spes consisted of people from both factions who were willing to work together to bring an end to the civil war and to set down their differences and create a single, unified nation. At first the Novus Spes was ineffective and hard trouble gaining and foot hold. But soon after fourteen months, the Novus Spes had put a stop to the fighting and were working on an agreement about the new nation. The new nation would be a very strong and aggressive nation, but the Novus Spes took an oath to protect the land and her resources by giving back twice fold whatever they took out. With this new way of life created, Norwrath and the Kardians were reunited and the Novus Spes because the first Grand Council of the Primoris Valde Tempus, First Great Era.
